Chicago Police Finalize Tighter Rules On When To Shoot Fleeing Suspects And Other Uses Of Force

The Chicago Police Department on Wednesday released a new use of force policy that requires officers undergo de-escalation training and imposes stricter rules on when they can fire their weapons at fleeing suspects. The policy also tells officers how to "safely and humanely" use tools like Tasers or canines.
