A man has been charged with assault and a V/Line train conductor has been stood down pending an investigation after violent scenes at a Victorian train station. The 46-year-old Croydon man allegedly assaulted a woman on a train at Broadford railway station on Saturday and when the conductor confronted him a fight spilled onto the platform. In a video uploaded on Facebook, the uniformed conductor can be seen punching and kicking the man. The passenger is accused of assaulting a female passenger prior to the incident, and then spitting on the intervening conductor, before telling him that he was going to hunt him down and bomb his house. V/Line has stood down the conductor while the matter is investigated.
