"My husband and I were getting into our car to leave home when we saw smoke rising from the Box Springs range. We called our family to warn them, as well as my husband's old housemate whose home was dangerously close in the fire's path. He was away at the time; so we took a detour to make sure his home was there and to gauge the situation. As we drove down Blaine, we saw a skilled pilot dive down the side of the mountain for a fire retardant drop. It was a jaw-dropping moment we won't soon forget."
