On Wednesday, former NFL player Merrill Robertson Jr. was charged by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission with defrauding investors. According to a complaint, which was filed in federal court in Richmond, Virginia, Robertson, a former player with the Philadelphia Eagles and Sherman Vaughn Jr., who are co-owners of Cavalier Union Investments LLC, diverted nearly $6 million of more than $10 million raised from investors to pay for personal expenses.
