Central Elementary School Principal Melissa Carter and her clerk, Cecilia Self, were captured on video paddling a 6 year old girl. The video was recorded by the 6 year olds mother after she was told her daughter had damaged a school computer and was being punished. The repair cost was around $50.
The mother says she didn't understand the process of the paddling punishment as it was explained to her, because she doesn't speak much English. The Principal is currently under multiple investigations for the incident. A criminal case by Clewiston PD, a social one by the Dept. of Children and Families, & by the Hendry County district itself, which doesn’t allow corporal punishment.
