Charlottesville Police have confirmed that 25-year-old Bryan Silva has been arrested, after a stand-off that happened Sunday at a home on the 2500 block of Jefferson Park Avenue.
Silva has been charged with abduction and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Charlottesville Police Chief Tim Longo said the suspect surrendered after police used a chemical irritant on the home.
Police responded to a domestic dispute call around 6:00 Sunday morning at the home where the barricade situation occurred.
Apparently, a 17-year-old girl had been at the residence when a dispute occurred. She then left go to the neighbor’s house.
The girl told police she had been held against her will by her boyfriend and that he had also threatened her with a handgun. She also told officers that he had threatened to shoot the police.
