"Milwaukee, WI - A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman has been charged in a
crash last week that killed one passenger and seriously injured herself
and her 2½-year-old daughter. Taylor Arms faces a count of eluding
officers resulting in death after an Oct. 25 chase that ended when her
vehicle ran into a tree near North 71st and West Marion streets.
According to the complaint, Arms was driving a silver Mercedes with
tinted windows and no license plates. When police began to follow her on
West Capitol Drive, Arms turned north on 72nd Street and reached speeds
of 60 MPH before turning east on Marion and then crashing. A front seat
passenger, April Stegall, 21, was killed in the crash. Police had to
break a driver's side window to rescue Arms and the child from the rear
seat as flames engulfed the front of the car. Arms' driver's license had
been suspended in August for failing to pay a forfeiture, according to
the complaint."
